Locked Within
Every step predetermined, Destined for this barren cell, No choice but to play the part, Scripted by invisible hands. Windows barred shut, Not to keep me in, But to keep the world out. Uniforms shuffle by, Mute guards of fate's design, Faces ashen, expressing A pervasive knowledge that I was eternally just shit out of luck. Clutching keys to nowhere, In a theater of cruel absurdity. The clock ticks with premeditation, Each second mocking my captivity, I am anchored to the illusion, Of freedom beyond these walls. Guilty of the crime Of being born into this charade, Sentenced to a life Without the freedom to choose. We all will forever be serving time.
