lock and key
my stomach was weighed down by bricks as soon as i asked if you were alright and you called me as an answer. do you know i stared vacantly at the wall as you talked and the tightness of my chest reached my throat the tears burned the edges of tired eyes like wildfire do you know what my silence meant? as every door that was opened began to resume the shameful click of door closing, locking, closing, locking as i realized once again that i had opened up to empty space where love should have been and the reason is good, don't get me wrong but that does not stop the pain of having to let go when i had finally found a place to call home with only the gentlest of hands to love me and when you began to beg me to not disappear because it was over my edges were already beginning to fade fraying like yarn in an unravelling sweater i'm sorry i'm sorry that it hurts me so much
