Little Steps
I heard little steps. Little steps. One and two, then there were three and four. Little steps. It was night; dark in the midnight, sky without any light, no stars nor moon shine. Little steps, tip toe. I heard gusts of wind, as the storm brews. Tip toe. Rain knocks at my window. The drums of thunder are echoing now, yet these little steps seem louder. Chill spread across my skin. Wind pulling my feet, unprotected by my blanket. Little steps seem pacing with the wind. I cling onto the light, within my device, I find. Only to lose focus, of the little steps I'm hearing. The rain is getting louder, but these little steps are closer. Little steps, little steps, little steps, little steps, little steps. Then. It stopped. Rain in my right, beside my bedside. Little steps, I turned left. The beating of my heart stopped. No more little steps. No more. It's already beside me.
