Little Fingers
Left to love's aftermath, little white fingers grasping at air. Wondering where the hell the love is at or if it's ever gonna get there. "Mommy, daddy, what’s that smell? We know that's not a cigarette. We know you're tired but please don't yell, we don't understand just yet. I really need your hugs and kisses on me. Why don't you care when I call? Look how small my fingers are, mommy, they barely fit in your palm. What's on the floor, dad, that I can't see? You've been on your knees for hours. You hate yourself, dad, but cuss at me, then ask me why I flinch and cower" If I knew any better I'd think yall were joking. I just wish yall loved me more. Sissy and I, we may be broken, but please don't forget that we are yours. If I didn't scream, I don't think you'd notice, unless to cuss and shut the door. Why can't we just get you loaded like those little pieces on the floor?" All virtue runs scarce in the hands of liars, so cursed be their born. That cold disease trickles down the wire, no way to be forsworn.
