"It was very afraid after everything it had seen. I tried so hard to call it, telling it, 'I am here, I have a shelter,' but it no longer trusted anyone. I found so many of them and tried to tell them, 'I am not like him, I am not him, but it was too hard for them to believe me. I observed the effects of negativity on them. I thought negativity was stronger, that it had millions of ways he was the awful truth. And I... I was the good lie, or perhaps I was nothing, despite the deep hatred he was exposed to."
