Lingering Wounds By: Ms. Boniza A voice filled with despise, always on repeat, "You're unworthy, unfit, a leader's role" A claim he said, a scar that I cant erase A knife stabbed my heart, For his words a malice, Words that want to ceased my heart beats As they tear me down, a fragmented heart already ceased ita longing to live, A tired eyes, a numb ache always reside in my soul They say my loved ones are soft, unable to see The "truth" they claim, a narrative designed to hurt me A venom like people, A snake, we despise to get close A desperate attempt to break my spirit, and my hope Yet, in the shadows, a words of comfort Healed my minds negativity A gentle voice that says, "Stay strong ate b" A reminder that I am loved, I am enough That my worth isn't defined by the opinions of their hatered,Their opinions are not the truth I must force to believe Someone wants me to lead, to stand up and smile Someone wants me as a friend, to laugh and cry aloud, to share my joy with Someone respects me, values my heart and mind, Someone calls me "ate", a term of endearment, a love that is sweet and kind I am worthy of love, o I am worthy of respect, I am worthy of friendship, of laughter and of tears,
