"Like a Normal Day"
They say my life is just the same, A quiet start, a daily name. But deep inside, a silent fight, That flickers dim beneath the light. What should I say? What can I show? The weight I bear, they’ll never know. I smile and nod, I play the part, Yet tremble in my beating heart. Yes, I am different—this is true, A world unseen I’m walking through. With every step, I carry more— The fear, the pain I can’t ignore. Epilepsy—my hidden guest, That steals my peace, denies me rest. With pills and phobia side by side, And scars from battles I can't hide. They say, “You're normal, just like us,” But deep within, there's so much fuss. A storm they simply never see, A life that's far from carefree, free. Yet still I rise, and still I say, “My life begins like yours each day.” Not seeking pity, not a crown, But strength in getting up—not down. I’ve made my peace, I’ve come to see, This life is mine, uniquely me. And if it starts like yours—okay. I live it fully, come what may. _Sakshi Shah
