Lightning strikes

I stood in the rain today, to wash away the pain of yesterday. Hoping to see through the haze. Rain falling from my lashes blurring the lines I see. Rain pounding the sidewalk like my heart pounds out of my chest for you. lightning strikes out of the blue, lighting up the night till I see through to you. Silent and pitch black again, all I feel is the cool drip of rain from my finger tips slowly washing away yesterday. Thunder cracks and my Heart skips a beat as I hold my breath Waiting to see you on this pitch black night. Lightning flashes across the sky And i can see it in your eyes. Thunder rumbles and I wait for the lightning to strike, so I can run; Run fast through this rain that's cleansing me from this pain. I let the Thunder and Lightning guide me through the pain until I reach you.
