"Lighting the way"
Life is like an oil lamp, shining bright and bold, But few see the struggles of the wick, growing old. It burns itself out, to light the way, A symbol of our efforts, night and day. People may not see our struggles, our efforts and our strife, But that doesn't mean we give up, no, not in life. They may talk and criticize, but we know our worth, Believe in yourself, for that's the greatest birth. Others may clap when we succeed, but we must clap too, For the efforts we make, the struggles we go through. For every failure is a lesson, a chance to grow, And every success is a celebration, don't you know. People come and go, but we remain, The only constant, our own self-refrain. So let's enjoy each moment, each day and each night, And celebrate our journey, with all its plights. For success is not the only thing, that needs a cheer, Failure too, needs applause, and a wipe away of tears. So let's clap for ourselves, and our efforts so grand, And light the way, for our own self, to stand."
