“Light in the Hollow”
The hollow hum of a restless mind Turns every step to paths confined. The walls of thought grow thick and tall, Each whisper louder than the last call. But then you smile, and sunlight gleams, Chasing away my darkest dreams. Your laughter cuts the suffocating air, A sudden dawn breaking despair. Though shadows press and clouds conspire, You lift me gently from the mire. I am not whole, I am not free, Yet with your love, I still can be. The night may stretch, unkind, austere, Filling my soul with lingering fear. But your soft words, your steady hand, Remind me life can still be planned. So in this hollow, I will stay, Where light and love can chase the gray. Though storm may rage and thoughts may bite, You are my shelter, my day, my night.
