LIFE SENTENCE by Agnes Manyala
A 'missed flight ' I might call it, That landed me here, this place My sacred place, a self palace I'm alone in my world There's nothing at all Just my residence-maybe imaginary A cage on air With no pleasing environment No,nothing at all Just whispers of the cold blowing wind I'm not just helpless, but hopeless, powerless, and to mindless I'm just nothing but numbness I am chained My feet to the bottom hands stretched out to the sides, and squatting My head swings from side to side And it still is nothing but numbness I suffer emotion emptiness the cold winds blow my chest And leave a hole The place of my heart that was broken bled and died It's all gone now carried by the wind I am a deserted being A big screen in front of me Showing the recordings of my ugly deeds I can't retrieve nothing Now I stay and wait For when the whispers will change From the talk of the wind To the sounds of reality- my beloved ones crying for my soul Then after, rest I shall find But for now, My burden I will bear And because all I deserve 'this all my fault
