Life Giver
Life giver, you are here with me, Placing me in the greenest of places. We were just friends—nowhere close— But sitting at a bus stop, Reading comics of the day, Not knowing how laughter Was my life jacket in my local pool— Was enough for me. As we draw near, My parched mouth Calls out for your quench. I need your full injection— Level me straight. Take away my dizzy stance And crooked posture. Life giver, Take me by the hand. Show me your landscape, Where people walk and dance Into the opening day. Show me the bottom of the well, Where water glows and nourishes The deepest part of my soul. Draw me near— My veins are dry, And my heart dispels The stale dust of yesterday. Let me stand with nature. Let us blend into one color. Let my instincts reveal themselves, And let them guide me In my newly identified migration.
