life befor the internet
In a time not so distant, before the digital burst, Life took a different form, a tale of the past, Where connection was personal, intimate, and slow, A world where the internet had yet to show. We lived in a realm where letters traveled by mail, Where patience was a virtue, to tell our tale, Writing words on paper, thoughts etched by hand, With every stroke of ink, emotions would expand. Conversations were crafted on a landline phone, Speaking with loved ones, no matter how far they roamed, Memories woven through the sound of a voice, Exchanging stories, laughter, and joys. To explore the unknown, we turned to the library, With shelves full of knowledge, endless stories to see, Finding answers within the pages, right at our fingertips, A tangible adventure, where imagination would eclipse. Sharing captured moments was a different endeavor, No instant posts or filters to make them look better, We relied on film cameras, capturing the light, Waiting eagerly for the developed prints, a delight. Getting lost was an art, with paper maps in hand, Navigating winding roads and foreign lands, No GPS guiding us with a robotic voice, Just intuition and exploration, the traveler's choice.
