Lies I Told To Myself
Lies I told to myself, soft as the night, Whispers that linger, hidden from light. I said I was fine, though shadows crept near, Pretending for years, masking the fear. I told myself time would heal all the pain, But scars stayed with me, like drops in the rain. “I’m stronger,” I said, as I cracked at the seams, Foolishly hoping to live out the dreams. I promised my heart it could learn to forget, That wounds would fade slowly, no trace of regret. But the echoes still whisper, a voice in the dark, And the lies I believed left an indelible mark. Now I see them, the truths buried deep, Lies I once held, now restless, they leap. I told myself peace would come without cost, But now I know all I lost in that gloss. ~Nyx_Vespera✨🎀
