Lies
The worst lies we tell to kids are the ones about their dreams we let them think that clouds are soft and the moon is made of cheese Now they're 21 and life's not what it seems. Time will pass them by oops they blinked they're 33 They'll realize things will fade and cling onto their youth, oh no they blinked again and now they're 52 Now their body hurts and their children moved away. They fall asleep and then wake up to find they're 88 As they take their final breaths they think about their dreams. They wonder where their life has gone now that they're 103 They had so many goals they never got to reach, all the sights and places that they never got to see I guess that's just what happens when we lie about their dreams
