Letting the real me win
I've given up on making people see the real me, No matter how hard I try, they prefer a facade, you see. It hurts, but what can I do, it's life's decree, A life I've tried to change but couldn't, unfortunately. Maybe I'm better alone, the only one who truly knows, Yet, sometimes, I yearn for someone to ask how it goes. "Are you okay? How was your day? Was it too much to impose?" But maybe that's wishful thinking, as my loneliness grows. I hate how people make me feel bad about myself, I shouldn't feel this way, but it affects my mental health. They portray me as the villain, questioning my inner self, Perhaps they made me this way, trapping me in their stealth. All I ever wanted was understanding, acceptance true, To be liked for who I am, not a version misconstrued. But alas, it seems like better luck is overdue, Funny how they're fake, pretending to be what they're not, too. I was once like them, faking to fit in, Now I realize, authenticity is where I begin. Faking who you are, just to please, is no longer my sin, I stand true to myself, letting the real me win.
