letting go ..
You say I should let it go, But how to part from love I know? How to release a heart so true, When every breath still longs for you? You say I should let it go, The one I prayed for, long ago. How do I sever these tender threads, When each one binds my heart instead? In dreams, you linger, soft and near, Yet waking brings a hollow fear. The love we had, now out of reach, A silent lesson life does teach. You say I should let it go, But where to find the strength to show? How to embrace the bittersweet, And let the past and present meet? So I’ll close my eyes and breathe the pain, Release the love, though it remains. In letting go, I’ll learn to mend, And find a way to start again.
