Letter of an apology
In the depths of my contrite heart, a lamentation echoes, A poignant expression of remorse, a sorrowful apology that beckons. I know, dear one, that the mere utterance of "sorry" may seem woefully inadequate, A paltry attempt to salve the wounds of a hurt that runs far deeper. Yet, I implore you to trust in the sincerity of my words, For whenever I proffer an apology, it emanates from the very marrow of my being. My heart, once a vessel of joy and laughter, now overflows with contrition, A deep sense of regret that threatens to consume me whole. In the stillness of the night, I am haunted by the ghosts of my past transgressions, The weight of my mistakes bearing down upon me like a physical force. My mind, a maelstrom of turbulent thoughts, is beset by the anguish of my own making, A torment that I fear may never truly dissipate. And yet, despite the crushing burden of my guilt, I find the courage to reach out to you, To offer a humble apology, a plea for forgiveness that I hope you will consider. For I know, dear one, that the path to redemption is long and arduous, But with your forgiveness, I may yet find the strength to begin anew. So I ask, dear one, that you find it in your heart to pardon me.
