let's be friends again

"Let's be friends again!" you said, you said it and I believed you wanted to but you didn't mean it. I kick myself every day for believing that you meant the sincerity I had read in that text. You played me like a fool, and I let you again. I was torn and beaten and brought to my hands and  knees while you stomped your foot on the back of my head. I hoped you had changed, I hoped and pleaded and begged to the God's that I don't believe in, that you meant what you said, "let's be friends again!" that hope dwindled every hour, every minute, every active status that I saw.  "let's be friends again!" I wish you had meant that.
