LESSONS IN THE SHADOWS

I It’s wise to watch where others fall, Their stumbles teach, though faint and small. In every flaw, a light we find, To guide the steps we leave behind. II But if we wait for pain to show, Before we learn which way to go, Then wisdom comes at heavy cost— A crown of pride, but all else lost. III So heed the faults that others make, And dodge the road they failed to take. For learning late through personal strife, Is folly dressed in lessons of life. . ©2024
