LESSON LEARNED
In shadows deep, a tale unfolds, A mystery veiled, guilt untold. Repercussions of a fateful bet, With stakes so high, my soul in debt. I ventured forth, with naught to lose, But little did I know, the path I'd choose. With trembling hands, I placed my fee, A wager made, no turning key. No choice remained, but to proceed, Through murky waters, my heart did bleed. The dice were cast, the die was cast, And consequences loomed, a shadow vast. Whispers echoed, secrets whispered, As guilt consumed, my soul blistered. The weight of choices, heavy as lead, A haunting presence, a voice in my head. Oh, how I yearned to turn the tide, To undo the wager, the guilt inside. But fate's cruel hand, it held me tight, In this mysterious dance, I lost my light. Now I wander, lost and alone, Haunted by the choices I should have known. Guilt, my constant companion, my eternal foe, A reminder of the price I had to bestow. Short-lived was the thrill, the fleeting gain, For in this mysterious realm, guilt shall remain. A lesson learned, a heavy cost, In the labyrinth of choices, I was lost.
