left out
In the crowd, yet all alone, Among voices, still unknown. A sea of faces, none to greet, A heart that knows the ache of defeat. Laughter echoes, but not for me, I stand apart, longing to be free. Invisible threads of solitude bind, A longing for connection, hard to find. The world moves in a rhythmic dance, But I remain, caught in a trance. A shadow in the sun’s bright light, Searching for solace in the night. Eyes meet mine, then quickly stray, A silent wish they’d choose to stay. But in this realm of endless flight, I’m a ghost, fading from sight. Yet in this silent, lonely song, I find a strength to carry on. For in the quiet, I can see, A deeper part of what makes me, me. One day, perhaps, I’ll find my place, In a warm embrace, a kindred face. Until then, I'll stand apart, Nurturing the whispers of my heart.
