Leaving First
If I let the past trauma linger one more time It will remind me of all the troubles I've left behind All I can hope to remember in daylight is the faces I've left rotten But my dreams remind me of feelings forgotten Why open a portal of emotions not needed? Was the past not meant to be faded? I'd like to forget how to feel, but that detract the meaning of love But love has not been my best friend in spite of This explains why I leave first Because when it hurts, it hurts And I'd rather remember your sad face in the daylight. Than dreaming about your feelings in the night If leaving first means I'll be saved from past pain Then I'll continue to leave again and again.
