Learning to stand alone

Last year broke me ,last year made me wise, Showed me truths no comfort could disguise, Crowds felt near ,yet I stood apart, Learning slowly how to guard my heart. I gave to much, I stayed too long, Mistook quiet pain for something strong, What I released found safer ground, Not every shelter is ment to be found. I lost some names,I lost some days, Gained silent strength in unseen ways, When ever road leaves you own your own, You learn to stand skin, soul and born. So 2026,I walk in peace, No borrowed love , no need to please, I'll smile with truth, let respect stay, And choose myself every single day. I move ahead, no weight to carry, No forced bonds,no need to hurry, With calm in heart and eyes held clear, I stand complete nothing to fear.
