Learn to Love Yourself
One Scar at a Time I learned to love myself not in one bright miracle, but in quiet moments when the mirror stopped feeling like an enemy and became a witness. A witness to every tear I swallowed, every night I stayed strong when I wanted to fall, every prayer I whispered when no one else was listening. My scars are not ugly— they are handwriting from life, each one spelling a story of survival, each one saying: I was hurt… but I healed. I used to hide them, cover them with smiles, with makeup, with silence. But scars don’t ask to be erased— they ask to be understood. So I touched my pain gently, like you touch a wound that’s learning to close, and I said, “I forgive you for breaking. I thank you for not giving up.” Loving myself wasn’t loud. It was choosing rest over exhaustion. It was choosing peace over proving. It was walking away from anything that made me forget my worth. Every scar taught me something: how to be soft and still survive, how to love deeply without losing myself, how to rise even when my knees were shaking. I am not perfect— I am patched together with courage, stitched with hope, and glowing with lessons. So I stand here now, not ashamed of what I’ve been through, but proud of who I become.
