Late Night "Text"
I miss you; sometimes I think about what we had. I know I shouldn't, 'cause it only makes me sad. It wasn’t something special, but I loved that it was ours— poems I wrote just for you, like hand-picked flowers. I shouldn't dwell on the past; I need to look to what's ahead, but it's hard knowing you won’t be there instead. I’m not trying to win you back; I need to let these feelings go, but sometimes I wonder if I can even do that, though. And believe me, I've tried. I've tried to move on, but it’s always the same—I can’t believe it’s gone. Will the future be brighter? Will it be better? I don’t know; that’s why I’m writing this letter. Only time will tell, I guess, but until then, I’ll be a mess. I know you've got other things to do, so just one more thing: I've really missed you.
