LAST TIME WE SAW THE WORLD
We looked at the world once with innocent eyes, Before pain taught our hearts to disguise, Back when the stars felt close enough to hold, And every small wonder shimmered like gold. Childhood carried magic inside every street, Even the rain felt gentle and sweet, But time stole colors little by little away, Until memories became the light of our days. Now we walk through echoes of what used to be, Haunted by shadows only the young can see, Searching for pieces of ourselves left behind, Buried somewhere deep in the corners of time. Maybe growing up is learning this truth, That life never feels the same after youth, Because we only truly see the world once… then fade, Into memories of the beautiful ghosts we made.
