Indeed, I expected. With my eyes, I have seen. Yet, I hoped To never live the nightmare. It has faded Memories of short love, Forever to question, Forever searching why I loved. Yes, I have seen The last page of the book. Pages of four, Short yet deep in heart. Questioning the end, Wondering why it was swift. For now, my eyes leak with grief, And sorrow abounds. Again, I go through it. Now, I bleed Not in flesh, but in soul, And soon, I will heal. For I have seen and felt. Indeed, I will. Recovery is out of reach, I can only delay, But never stop—for I must go on.
