last goodbye
In the quiet dawn, where shadows lie, We stand together, yet the hours fly. Your suitcase by the door, packed and neat, And all our memories clinging bittersweet. The world calls you beyond the sea, To distant lands where you must be. But here, in this moment, time stands still, As if by force of love and will. Your eyes meet mine, a sile nt plea, To hold onto the past, to what we used to be. But the future pulls, a tide too strong, And soon, my friend, you’ll be long gone. So go, with the wind at your back, Take my love in every track, And though miles may stretch between, In my dreams, you’ll still be seen. This isn’t forever, just for now, We’ll meet again, somewhere, somehow. But as you board and take to the sky, I’ll whisper softly, our last goodbye
