Lackluster
Lackluster By: Marivil Boniza The flower refused to grow Its pigments slowly fading, withering all at once, hopeless in its stagnation Indeed, it was ephemeral, yet somehow felt strangely heavy— as if time won't permit to see the glimpse of what once was The rose stopped blooming, the skies didn’t shed tears, the light was dim, and the petals didn’t gleam it lacked sunlight, I guess— or maybe water? Maybe the soil was the problem, unable to hold such a beautiful thing Perhaps the flower was simply lackluster, its petals suddenly wilted halfway through And like the flower, our friendship lost its radiance, The days of joy was quickly forgotten and been buried deep in the past
