Looking back to where it all began, Tiny flames flew into the starry sky, We were dancing around the bonfire, Both hopes are high, Strangers to the word goodbye. Thru the scarlet blaze of swaying fire, Amid that noisy crowd and strangers’ glee, I caught your stare and awkward smile, While the stars twinkle in your eyes, I knew, love had finally found me. Past nine years since that fated night, I stare at young lovers inside a frame, The entire galaxy reflecting in their eyes, Reminding me of the love I let go, The “forever” I threw… We were happy then, The world was ours And we built heaven on it, But my mind was hell and my dreams were high, A soft, sweet love in exchange of blinding lights. I drifted away like those tiny balls of flame, Wanting to reach that starry sky, I’ve forgotten the galaxy in your eyes. I want to go back to that night, Back to when the stars still shine… For you and me. ©reddragonfly (how I met my 1st love at a youth camp 🤪)
