Knot

I'll tie you down. I'll try my hardest, though you're more likely to sink and drown. I'll tie you up. I'll bring my best knot. I'll try again, might succeed. Probably not. Fix our life, sure you can have a go. You can try, but I haven't been able to do it yet. Not even after starting all those years ago. I'll tie you again, hang you up by a rope. Look at you there, purple face, swelling tongue, nose dripping with dry snot. Once again to no avail, our lives remain distraught. I'll tie it up once more, this time I'll try a better knot.
