knight's devotion
i have always loved like a knight with steel grasped between my palms armor heavy upon my shoulders to take the blows so my loved ones do not have to and i shake with a devotion that runs so deeply inside me i kneel at the foot of love and feel her sword grace each shoulder a fierce protectiveness gnawing at my bones that is what i am here for to devote my heart wholly to your happiness to fight until my last breath for the ones i care about the most and a loyalty so unshaking that i would rip the sky and land apart where they kissed just to see your joy and may i bear the calluses on my palms and scars on my body so that you may never suffer in the wars that i have so that they may take my bloodied face in their hands and tell me that i did alright
