Keep On Doing Good
In a world beset by darkness, and despair Where malevolence, and malice seem to reign, and flourish Keep on doing good, dear heart, keep on shining bright For in the depths of your soul, a radiant light takes flight Even if the world cannot see, even if they cannot hear Your acts of kindness, your deeds of love, your gentle tears Keep on doing good, for in the doing, you'll find your peace A sense of purpose, a sense of release, a sense of divine ease Doing good makes you good, it's a transformative, alchemical process That refines, and purifies your heart, and soul, and spirit, and flesh The joy comes from doing good, it's a joy that's unspeakable, and full A joy that overflows, and spills over, like a bountiful, and lavish pull Let them laugh, let them scorn, let them mock, and ridicule But you, dear heart, just love them more, with a love that's pure, and true They may insult you, they may revile, they may seek to bring you low But you, dear heart, just keep on loving, with a love that's strong, and slow Let them throw mud on you, don't even remove Let them hate you, already forgive them, with a heart that's full of love For only love rules, only love wins In the end, it's not the hate.
