Today I wanted to write you this poem In hopes of finding words to capture What I wish to convey to you Something beautiful and true And all I could think about was sweet Sounds like the birds come together To melodically say to each other That the night is over, and they made it another day Or at least let their friends know how happy They are to be surrounded by them As I continue to write this I am reminded of the joy is to walk with you Whether the path is straight or we come Across a steep hill. It just nice To be surrounded by your presence On days that don’t go your way I can pray that you are reminded Of the birds that sing with joy That surpasses all understanding And the way that God created you beautiful Enveloped in his love and grace And how loved and held you are No matter what season
