Just pretend
Sometimes all you can do is pretend Just close your eyes and pretend Pretend that all is okay Paint your face for the day Plaster on that smile Put life into your laughter Though all you are inside is hollow, dark, sorrowful, emptiness They don't need to know They don't need to know because they won't understand When your facade has held itself so convincingly for so long, how could they? Nonetheless, Everything is okay Everything is okay It's your mantra throughout the day Lying to yourself instead of truly trying yourself You not only spin a web of lies but you adorn that web with self deception Momentarily Until reality catches up with that little bit of sanity you have left Eyes blinded and bleeding so you can't see the life that you're leading Hands shaking with internal suffering Internally, Deep down inside, You know that really, to them, you actually mean nothing..
