Just let go..
I held on like it owed me peace Like pain would soften then release Like maybe if I tried once more It'd be the way it almost was before I replayed words that were never said Laid sleepless next to thoughts I fed I bent my truth to make you see me And lost myself along the "might be" But healing isn't always kind It doesn't ask it doesn't mind It simply comes when all feels slow And whispers softly "just let it go" Let go of fixing what won't bend Let go of what is not meant Let go of waiting for pretend Let go of "what if" and the ache Of giving more than they could take. Not everything was meant to stay Some things must gently drift away And sometimes love is learning how To breathe without it anyhow
