Just Ask
I called out from under the Stones of my follies. Racking with sores from my Self-inflicted wrongs. I called out to The Almighty. “What must I do to gain your favor?” My words gurgling on unshed tears. ‘Just ask.’ Slam down the bolt of revelation. Knock down any hesitation. The voice of God has called back. ‘Just Ask.’ Straight. Bold. Truth. Humbling my unpolished soul. Dragging strength from my Already spent spirit. I froze. I fell. Tears broke through. So simple. No ritual or law of past No herculean task. Simply, quietly, firmly. ‘Just Ask.’ He whispered in thunder. His voice stilled the world. Calling out the simplest of answers. The one to solve every woe. Just Ask! “Ask and it shall be given.” Even the tiniest of things. Let the Lord hear your pleas. Just ask! In his Holy Name, I will trust his claim. All will be provided, Down from the dust of the sea To the blistering chill of the mountains peak. Just Ask How simple is that? God’s promise to me – In my deepest cries. Just Ask! May I please, Oh, Great Father, Have your blessing? In the name of he who Transcends past the end, Jesus the Nazarene, The Son of Man. I do ask.
