june 9
The halls are fading into ghosts of gray, The final bell begins its lonely chime, I count the moments slipping fast away, As June the ninth marks out the end of time. I pack my bags for streets of old renown, To walk the banks where I was first awake, Yet here I linger in this quiet town, With one last promise I am bound to make. Yes I'm living the school on June 9, But I will always remember you, Though distance draws a long and jagged line, And turns the morning sky to shades of blue. I’ll carry echoes of your voice and grace, Across the sea to where the lights burn bright, No matter where I find my resting place, You’ll be the star that guides me through the night. Yes I'm living the school on June 9, But I will always remember you and you will always be in my heart
