Joy made simple
We walked, wide-eyed, staring at the world in wonder. We ran, asking why the sun, the moon, and the stars followed us wherever we wandered. We cried when hurt, laughed at your jokes, smiled at the faintest sound of your voice, your presence, the simple gifts you gave. We asked questions about mysteries still unsolved, took your advice sometimes but often left it behind. We threw tantrums, avoided the hard talks, procrastinated, believing there would always be time until the symphony was silenced by other plans. Now, we look beyond, hoping to meet again in the Evergreen fields, where saints keep your company among the heavenly hosts. Rest well, sweet dreams and bye for now.
