JOURNEY
(part 2) In darkness, eyes wide open, I lie still, And ponder how to keep what I hold dear, How to avoid the loss the bastille I fear And strive to be the best I can become. I looked into the mirror, Mom, and wondered— The charm’s in eye of those who gaze upon, Is beauty here, or is like plundered foregone? And I’ve often thought who holds my heart most. Today she smile, yet tomorrow’s unsure. Perhaps that’s why she sometimes doubt, Is love a journey with doubts and blackout? With sleepless nights, fights that seem imperfect? Mom, I fear the accidents on this road, The twists and turns that threaten all I cherish.
