Jericho and the trumpets
When I hear their laughs and see them stare, I look at my reflection and I think " That's just not fair. " You did it guys, my mom will be so proud I'm finally touching grass but wait not at the top but 12 feet under, I kept sinking deeper in like the knives in my back, like the arrows in my heart, and like the words they all spout see, when they talk all I hear are the bad parts because I don't deserve the good parts and I hate hearing lies, they're like axes to my face yet they are constantly thrown at me left and right but I never put up a fight, lies and screams but my voice is too weak, they yell and they scream but I don't give a peep. I put up my walls made of the strongest brick and stone, blocking my ears from all their noise all their sound and my ears are the strong walls that protect the city of silence but their voices are the trumpets that make the walls grow weak, I tremble under their roar but never show my body shake, I stand my ground and hold my tears but inside my heart pounds so fast I feel it might break through my skin cover and fly away to the safe space I made for myself but put up a sign reading ' Public Only.
