I’ve told you now —
You sit alone in your bedroom’s shade, Hiding yourself where the silence is laid. So many complaints in your quiet mind, Tears you’re shedding, though the world is blind. Everyone blames you, whispers in your ear, You only listen, swallowing each sneer. Father and mother, on their own feet they stand, Forgetting you, as if lost to their hand. Now you’re left empty, your tears overflow, Everyone wants what you’re not meant to show. Carrying the pain that others gave, You keep yourself in that lonely grave. Your heart still spills with a love so deep, To love the world, though no one keeps. Who will return what you freely give? How long in this silence will you live? Yet love, as long as your heart will stay, For someone will come to you one day — One who will share your sorrow and strife, One who will walk beside your life. Don’t let that one ever go away, I’m telling you this because I must say: I fell for you, while trying to understand, Your sorrow drew me, I reached out my hand. I’m addicted now to this quiet love, But forced to leave though it fits like a glove. So stop this venom, this breaking apart, Don’t let me go — I am Emily’s heart. ❣️ ---
