my friends asked me, "how sure are you it's real" I answered, the smiles and tears look real the voices and silence look real the screams and quiet nights feel real and then they asked, "why her?" I simply said because she looks straight at the darkness within me and is not afraid to silence it we're both broken and lost, but all that matters is that we're lost together. in my darkness she never lets me feel alone and so I look straight to her demons, unafraid of the pain, the brokenness we're both broken, but that doesn't change how I feel about her and how she feels about me
