It's been years
It's been years since I last met you It's been months since I talked to you But it's just been minutes since I thought of you I saw lavender, your favourite colour on a wall of some house and in a heartbeat's whisper thought of you I watched the sunset today and was reminded how much you love them What do I do when I am reminded of you even when I take a small stroll What do I do when you are everywhere in the flowers you used to like, in the songs you used to hear, in the movie you used to watch, and still nowhere in my reach What do I do now, now that I don't know the songs you hear, the flowers you like, the movies you watch What do I do I know we have grown up it is not what used to be our dreams differ so does our paths they are not intersecting nor are they parallel they are poles apart Still, I often think of you, of us, of the forever we use to weave, in those last benches of the classroom thinking we'll be different that our forever will last Now we've grown up, you haven't called me since November and the forever seems so distant you seem so distant maybe I should call you maybe we'll talk for hours maybe it'll be like the old times maybe we'll weave the forever again.
