Itching In My Skull
I can feel myself fading in and out Of this dream As I drift back into REM Your words are pounding And screeching in my head again Even though you only Choose to whisper Your words flash across my face In red and white I read them as if you're infuriated I know you're just tired My body is buzzing and I'm running from this noise The spiders are caged In my clasped hands Blood drips from between my fingers And out comes a royal blue bird Who has wings but cannot fly I watch as the felines rip it open Watching as I grip my chest On my knees The felines know no language But their own The felines can hear me But they could never understand They cure my flightless bird From it's life As your words buzz in my brain My eyes open once more And I can hear a third tear open Blood seeping down into my naivety As your words buzz Like angry hornets Behind my eyes, Itching in my skull
