it hurt
it hurt The air grew thin, the light turned gray, The words you didn't have to say. A jagged edge, a sudden flare, A heaviness I had to bear what is this, it hurt I tried to smile, to play the part, But salt was pressed against my heart. No bandage stops a silent bruise, Or mend the things I had to lose love is not love, it hurt I watched the clock, I felt the shift, The widening of a quiet rift. I told the dark, I told the dirt, i listen to my heart beat, i speaks to my mind, "I'm still here, but it hurt."
