Is That Love
In the depths of my soul, a flame burns bright A love so pure, yet invisible to your sight I reach out with open heart, with gestures true But you, my love, do not see, nor respond anew Every act, a testament to the love I hold Yet, in your eyes, it's perceived as something cold You think I seek to gain, to ask for something more But little do you know, my love, it's simply love I adore Your silence is a shroud, a mystery I've yet to unwind A greeting met with indifference, leaving me to question my mind Is this the way of love? A one-way, winding road? I search for answers, night and day, but none seem to unfold Perhaps, my love, you've misconstrued my intentions kind Thought me a beggar, seeking favors, leaving my heart behind But no, my love, it's just the love I bear for all A love that's genuine, not a plea, nor a desperate call Do not be bothered by my messages, dear one They're merely expressions of the love that's never undone Having love like this doesn't make me mad or blind It's just the love I have, a love that's truly one of a kind If I've erred, dear love, and caused you pain or strife Please, let me know, that I may make amends, and end this life Of longing and of searching, and of hoping.
