Invisible String
An invisible string Perhaps got stuck to us When we first met. And maybe that's What still binds us. When my fate first found you, I didn't hold your hands tight. Maybe I did that to save myself, Knowing my destiny A bit too well, Knowing it's bound to cut Every string that tugs at my heart A bit too well. Lost you in the crowd, Only to know that I bruised myself. And this time, I couldn't blame My fate. So I made friends with the thought Of not seeing you again, Made friends with the thought of "what if" We don't share our thoughts anymore. At least we share the same sky. So I stare at the moon, the clouds, and the sun, And plead to them to make her smile, To make her feel things I wanted to make her feel, But was too busy protecting myself From the wounds that would bleed me to death.
