*Invisible Scars*
The silence breeze brush through my hair, The chill of the breeze makes me numb and scared. I hide under my pillow, for the fear won't disappear. Run, scream, and hide – what's the point? I've hid my scars; it's not a show or tell. Burning inside, the smoke I've smelled, Shrivelled up in a shell, for I'm shy and alone. The question is, should I still be here? Darkness has surrounded me. I have big dreams, but still don't know what's wrong with me. Felt like running my whole life, but they always see A picture-perfect life; only if they had known That when my eyes seem to fail, my heart slowly stops, And my body reaches the ground, it's the time they saw me With a pitiful smile – "weird," they say. Maybe they're right, but what's right without wrong? Guessing they're trying to leave me out, But can't you see? If not, my guilt, fear, and emotions Are overwhelming me; I can't even speak the words Of how I feel. So I'll do what I do best – hide In a box, yes, that same box. The box of loneliness, sadness, hurt, and a bit Of desperation, reaching out, shouting from my lungs, Longing for someone to get me the hell out.
